Introduction The term ‘infopreneurship’ is a relatively new term in the discipline of Library and Information Science (LIS), although its function has been in existence ever since the beginning of information consulting and brokering. Coulson–Thomas (2000), in his article entitled “Developing and supporting information entrepreneurs”, describes infopreneurs as information entrepreneurs. McCreadie and Rice in Ikoja-Odongo and Mostert (2006) describe information as a commodity or resource. They go further to characterize it as a physical commodity that can be produced, purchased, replicated, distributed, manipulated, passed along, controlled, traded and sold. Librarian as Teacher: Information literacy in special libraries, or, how to secretly teach people things

When I was in library school I learned that information literacy is something that is taught in classes and seminars, by professional librarians to small or large groups of clients. While the content of information literacy training varied, what was made clear in the model I was presented with was that a client knew when they were being taught information literacy. However my first few jobs were in special libraries, in corporate environments. I found the difference between information literacy theory and practice very wide.
